We were so proud to be joined today by councillor Mark Lillycrop, Mayor of Thatcham. The Mayor joined us for a special assembly to celebrate all the achievements of our Eco-Committee and present the school with an Environmental Champions Award from the Town Council.
The award was in recognition of the Eco-Committee's "incredible ongoing work achieving various awards through both Eco-Schools and Plastic Free Communities". We were nominated for the award by Jenny Kirby - owner of Thatcham Refillable and member of Plastic Free Communities and Eco Friends. Jenny said the following in her nomination:
"They are the first school in Thatcham to achieve Plastic Free School status. They cram so much into each term and are a real inspiration. The children and teachers are passionate and enthusiastic."
Well done Eco Team!
