An exciting opportunity has arisen for us to recruit a Co-opted Governor to support the work of the Board of Governors and the Senior Leadership Team at Parsons Down Partnership of Schools.
Governors are volunteers who make a vital contribution to the success of the school and are able to make a real difference to young people and give something back to the local community. The role of a School Governor is very rewarding: it will enable you to meet new people and work as part of a team. You will gain new knowledge and skills, and will be able to bring a valuable perspective to the work and governance of the board.
The strength of a governing body lies in its ability to attract and rely upon members from a wide variety of backgrounds. We are particularly interested in hearing from people who have experience in Human Resources, Safeguarding and Special Education Needs (SEN). However, experience in these areas is not essential and we would welcome applications from anyone who is interested in helping our school be the best it can be. Full training and support will be available to help you develop in this role.
If you are able to attend regular meetings (6 full governing board meetings a year, during the evenings) and be available to help at school events, then we would love to hear from you.
If you would like to find out more about the role and an application form, please email the Clerk of Governors (ClerkofGovernors@pdp.w-berks.sch.uk).
(Please note: you must be 18 or over to apply and all new governors must complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.)
