Admissions
Infant School Admissions
All admissions to our Infant School are handled by the Local Authority (LA), West Berkshire Council. Parents will therefore need to apply via West Berkshire LA to secure a place at our Infant School. All appropriate forms can be obtained from the local authority and are available on-line. Children are offered a place and admitted in the September prior to their fifth birthday.

Preference for admission is given to children living within the area normally served by the school. Other requests are considered according to the criteria and procedures set out by the West Berks LA.

Once your child has been offered a place, our Infant School Office will be in touch to welcome you to our school and provide you with the pre-admission paperwork to complete.

Prospective parents are invited to visit the school to find out about the education and ethos our school has to offer - please contact the school office to find out more information. The admissions process can be daunting for parents applying for the first time, so please do not hesitate to contact us if you are unsure or have any questions.

Junior School Admissions
Most children transfer from Parsons Down Infant School to Parsons Down Junior School. Parents will, however, still need to apply via West Berkshire LA to secure a school place at Parsons Down Junior School, even though the two schools are federated. Application forms will be given to PDI pupils in the Autumn Term of Year 2.
Children join our Junior School at the beginning of the academic year during which they are eight years of age. The admissions criteria are set by the Local Authority.

Secondary School Admissions

You must apply for a Year 7 secondary school place via the West Berks LA.

There is more information about our local secondary schools on our Link Schools page.
